Fat people work hard like most people to lose weight. Americans try hard to keep their weight down. Staying healthy is as important as looking your best.

For those that have tried everything to lose the weight but have failed, this article is for you. The process of losing weight is a mental as well as physical. Motivation and confidence is one of the most important things to possess while following a weight loss program.

New weight loss programs and products advertising with "before and after pictures" always grab our attention. Short term, quick weight loss programs are great, but not easy to maintain for long. They are often ineffective. People who take part in weight loss programs are excited after losing a large amount of weight the first week and then find it tough the following weeks when weight loss slows down. This is when they run the risk of returning to old habits and gaining the weight back.

Weight loss programs can be very restrictive where diet is concerned. Totally different from what a person is accustom to doing all their life. So it is very hard. Most programs prescribe a lifestyle change that is maintained by continuing it for life. Losing weight naturally consists of watching what is eaten daily and at what frequency. Be sure to list your daily intake of food at each meal. Remembering to include the calorie content of each food.

1) Eating fruits and vegetables can ensure you get the highest quality of nutrients possible for each meal.

2) Include fish and chicken in your diet, but aviod frying or cooking with fatty oils. Grilling and baking these meats, helps you get the healthiest protein.

3) Divide your daily meals into 5-6 mini meals and eat in moderation. Stack your meals with the heaviest in the early part of the day and ending with the last meal being the lightest.

4) Include at least 30 minutes of simple exercises in your daily routine such as dancing, walking or light aerobics to strengthen your heart and burn calories.

5) Remember to drink a large amount of water daily to help regulate hunger, hydrate the body and cleanse the organs.

6) Consult a physician to make sure you are on the right program.
